I'm 25 years old and have a 4 week old baby that was diagnosed with thrush. we were both treated with nystain. would it be okay to use gentian violet?

Talk to MD first: You need to talk to your MD first before using Gentian violet this soon at your post partum checkup.

Gentian violet: This is an old remedy used when thrush is resistant to the nystatin. Be aware it can stain things like clothes etc

Not a good choice: This stuff stain everything it comes in contact and is difficult if at all possible to get out of clothing,surfaces.I had one parent treated kid end up at urgent care because the throat swelled and breathing became difficult as an odd reaction to the stuff. It is effective, but I never recommend it after all the trouble I've seen it cause.
