A member asked:

I'm pursuing medicine and i'd like to know the effect of fusion of iliac crest on the height. to what extent its fusion increases the height of a man?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

None: When the iliac crest fuses (fuses all the way), that means the skeleton has finished growing in height. The iliac crest itself does not cause one to be taller or shorter (or at least not by any noticeable amount). Height is affected by growth in the long bones (such as the leg bones) plus growth in the spine.
