Doctor needs to look: Pain in the armpit, especially with movement, can be from the skin, the muscles, the lymph nodes, the ribs, etc... The best person to see first is the primary care doctor, who can then refer to a specialist if he is not able to diagnose and solve the problem. However, since the pain is "horrible", if one's primary care doctor is not available, one may go to the Emergency Room for evaluation.
