A 21-year-old male asked:

can you tear your hymen without blood showing up?

Probably not: When any part of the body is torn, there usually is some bleeding. Of course, the bleeding may be so slight that a person doesn't notice it.

Intercourse, during the breaking of hymen, is it true that blood must gush out?

No.: The hymen is a thin membrane at the vagina's opening. The hymen has a hole in the middle that blood can go through, even before the first time a woman has intercourse. Women with "imperforate" hymen (without a hole in the membrane) may have a gush of blood when the hymen membrane is broken.

A 18-year-old female asked:

I was fingered and few blood came out is my hymen teared? Is there any reason for blood coming out rather than the hymen.I need to know without Dr.How?

Probably okay: The blood was probably from trauma from the manual manipulation, "fingering". If you are a virgin then that certainly could have represented a small tear in your hymen but that will heal without any intervention. If the bleeding persists for more than 2 to 3 days, or if the bleeding occurs without any manipulation, you should see a doctor. For more information www.askyourgynecologist.org

A 18-year-old female asked:

When doing inTercourse is it possible that blood comes out only from tearing of the hymen...and nothing else apart from that.

Possible: That is possible but a woman could also sustain small tears in the vaginal wall that would also bleed. Sometimes the cervix can be the source of bleeding due to the trauma of intercourse. Most women do not have bleeding due to sex.
