I got into an accident and it caused a mild whiplash which has lead to some spasming in my neck. but also have neck grinding noise. what is that?

If there is some de-: -generation present or even ligament injury, there is noise made with motion. And you hear this because sound is transmitted through a solid ( bone) even better than a liquid, both of which are much better than air. When i listen with a stethoscope, i am not able 2 hear the noises people hear when moving their neck.
