Maybe. Maybe not.: The human body doesn't like to have sharp objects piercing its skin or other body parts. The body likes to stay pure and free of foreign objects, so the body naturally reacts by trying to get rid of the object or by healing around it. A visible little vein near a piercing hole may be due to the increased blood flow there, which is part of the healing process. If not well very soon, a Dr. can help.

Yes of course: The open hole will likely close up as it heals and scars shut. In general, one would consider using an antibiotic ointment and bandage over the open area until it heals closed. If it does not close up, see a surgeon. Of course, watch carefully for signs of infection such as redness, pain, heat, swelling, or pus. Good luck.
