Marriage: One example is when 2 people get married. If one of them has outbreaks of herpes, and the other one doesn't, the couple can visit their primary care doctors to talk about the situation. The person who does NOT have outbreaks can get his or her blood tested to see if there is already immunity to his or her spouse's herpes. The spouse who HAS outbreaks can test to see if it is type 1 or 2 herpes.
