Thinner endometrium: The thinner the lining of the womb each month translates into a smaller amount to extrude during the period and thus a shorter period. Most women are "grateful" for a shorter visit from Aunt "Flo".

Shorter bleeding: Not all bleeding is your period and lighter or shorter bleeding can be associated with an early pregnancy. It can also be associated with birth control pill use, not ovulating and disorders such as hypothyroidism. Check a pregnancy test first if sexually active.
