Not for normal folks: Herpes lab tests are not for normal people who don't have any symptoms. There are a few special situations in which a normal person with no herpes symptoms may want to get herpes testing... which is why a person needs a primary care doctor. One's own doctor can evaluate to see whether or not a herpes test (there are several) needs to be done.
