Saw palmeeto and sage are ingredients in my hair lotion and shampoo, can any of these affect my oral birth control?

No: No. Shampoo and hair lotion have no effect on both control.

Unlikely: Saw Palmetto can effect estrogen effectiveness. Estrogen is one of the components of birth control. I have not found any good studies on its absorption through the scalp; however, my opinion is that very little would be absorbed into the bloodstream and using a shampoo with Saw Palmetto is unlikely to affect your birth control.
