See derm: If the skin is peeling and waxy (greasy) near the nose and eyebrows, it may be seborrheic dermatitis, which is basically facial dandruff, If this is the case, you may have dandruff in the scalp too, but not necessarily. The treatment is prescription creams (antifungals/antiinflammatories) and also treat the scalp if affected. Over the counters are usually not effective.
