A member asked:

Some people say there is pregnancy bleeding but some don't. what is it? how does it look like? amount? how to differentiate from period?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Varies: Not all pregnancies have any bleeding. An implantational bleed can happen when the pregnancy implants in the uterus but this doesn't happen every time and 1/2 of all pregnancies have some bleeding known as a threatened miscarriage in the first trimester. 1/2 of these miscarry and the other1/2 go on to have normal babies and no one knows what caused the bleeding. This varies just like normal periods
