Need more evaluation: Depending on the time from your last normal period you probably are not pregnant. The tests are usually quite reliable. Many other problems will cause these bleeding symptoms. Most common are uterine or cervical polyps. It is also common to have blood clotting abnormalities which have not been diagnosed. An ultrasound can often reveal the abnormality. Sometimes special blood tests are required.
