Viral infection: A cold or rhinitis is almost always a viral infection and is a self limited infection requiring only your immune system requiring cure. OTC meds such as Zicam (zinc), a decongestant, a nasal spray for no longer than 3 days, Lots of fluids, rest, time. There really is no special medication that resolves a viral rhinitis except you innate immune system.
