A member asked:

I took metformin 500 mg and i was wondering how long after stopping that it was out of your system and could it cause a false positive drug test?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Metformin 500: Metformin 500 is usually taken twice a day - out of your system every 12 hours. I don't think it can cause a faulse positive test if you are monitoring your blood sugar. If you think the metformin associated blood glucose values are too high or too low please contact your doctor.
