Normal: Hi, I would say that you have described a normal menstrual flow. When blood is brown, this means a lighter, slower flow. It has time to be exposed to air before you see it. Blood that is red is a faster flow and doesn't have as much exposure before you see it. The hormones that control menses also control the flow so then the vessels in the uterus clot and the flow gets lighter.
