Ibuprofen or hormone: The best first line treatment is ibuprofen or naproxen (dose base on your weight) and warm compresses on your suprapubic region. Better to start before the cramps get bad. Consider birth control pills. It's actually a common reason why young women are put on the pill, because it decreases or eliminates painful periods.
