A friend has been sick. can fever or stress cause sores on the mouth that resemble cold sores? it doesn't hurt and can be covered up with makeup.

Herpes simplex: If the sores are on or around the lips, cold sores (herpes simplex)would be likely. If they are within the mouth different types of viral lesions could be present. If these lesions persist or worsen, see your physician for evaluation.
