Dry skin: itching without any sign of rash or allergic reaction could mean a dry skin of course still could be an allergic reaction my advise apply skin lotion specially at night and take benadryl (diphenhydramine) 25-50 mg at bed time that will stop the itching while you are sleeping itching will create more itching keep your eye on anything you could be exposed to that might be causing the allergic reaction

Clinic evaluation: Persistent itching warrants evaluation in clinic; many possibilities.Allergies are a common cause; a change in laundry detergent or fabric softener is one of the 1st things we ask about. Scabies causes itching worse at night, is contagious, rash not always visible, easily treated. Dry skin also itches. Medical problems (eg liver, blood, thyroid, kidney, infection, etc) also cause itching.
