Many do: Some patients prefer not to take the placebo week pills. As long as you follow the directions taking one pill per day during the 21 days and restart the next pack no more than 7 days late the pills will be effective. It is easier to just take the pills as the come in the pack so you don't have to keep up with it. Better yet- consider an even easier more effective option such as an IUD or Nexplanon
