Was given treatment for suspected ulcer with only prilosec and -no- antibiotics. this seems unusual. expected treatment outcome?

Should help: If you have an ulcer, of any kind, omeprazole should help with symptoms and help treat the ulcer--kind of like removing the lemon juice from an open wound. However, if the ulcer was CAUSED by and infection like helicobacter pylori, the omeprazole won't "cure" you. You would need antibiotics for that. Discuss with your doctor his/her level of suspicion that this could be an infectious ulcer.
