Probably iron defici: With low ferritin, you're probably iron deficient. I'd follow with a serum iron, TIBC, and reticulocyte count. Also, I'd like to know the indices (MCH, MCHC, MCV) of your CBC. Also, your RDW.

I would like an explanation as to why my ferritin and transferrin saturationlevels are usually low, yet my CBC is normal. Which I dont understand. As my CBC count counteracts the anemia I do have heavy periods. Could that be the reason?
Does normal CBC mean I don't have anemia or shall I still test for ferritin and folate (folic acid)?
