A member asked:

Can a heart attack feel like sharp shooting muscular pain rather than inner chest pain. like maybe i've slept folded up? pulse is strong and steady.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Chest pain: There are many things that can cause chest pain. Sharp shooting pain as you stated is usually musculoskeletal in nature, either from muscles or ribs. Angina or chest pain is usually a pressure or heaviness that comes and goes. Other issues such as pneumonia or pleurisy can cause sharp chest pain also, but have different symptoms associate with them.
