Graves ophthalmopath: It sounds like you have Graves disease. Unfortunately, treating the hyperthyroidism dose not significantly affect the course of the eye disorder. The eyes bulge because of inflammation of muscle and tissue behind the eye related to an autoimmune response. If severe enough, it can be treated with steroids, radiation, and/or surgery.
