Not uncommon: As ibuprofen can reduce the volume of menstrual blood loss by 20 to 50 percent. It seems to work by reducing prostaglandin synthesis in the endometrium(uterine lining) which leads to vasoconstriction(blood vessels constrict) and reduce bleeding.
