Nothing beats exam: An individual diagnosis in this forum is not possible. For a problem such as a tender spot on the top of the head, nothing beats a physical exam, where it can be seen and palpated (felt). There are many possibilities, from an insect bite to a tick to an infection to inflammation to psoriasis to sebaceous cyst to other.
