A member asked:

What is an irregular period exactly? just a period that ranges from just a color difference to very minimal, odd colored discharge from normal .'s?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not so much color: The term "irregular" refers to the time interval between the first day of a menstrual period and the next period. Everything between 25 and 32 days is considered "normal". The bleeding lasting up to seven days is considered normal. However, many times when these intervals are off, the color of the menstrual blood is different as well.
