On hypertrophic scarring on lower eyelid, is using betamethasone valerate and a steroid shot okay?

Possibly: These can reduce the size or progress of a hypertrophic scar. However they should be used intermittantly and sparingly as if steroids are used chronically, they can cause thinning and atrophy of the skin into which the injection occurs.
