A member asked:

I got diagnosed with. 2.5cmx1.8cm dermoid cyst on left ovary. for months i keep regularly (on/off) very light +preg test. is it related due to hormone?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hcg: A germ cell tumor of the ovary, persistent ectopic pregnancy, molar pregnancy all can cause a persistent hcg level. If you haven't seen a gyn you might want to. In addition some pituitary growths can cause a false + serum pregnancy test, but the urine test is usually negative. The dermoid doesn't usually cause hcg production. Has this cyst been removed?
