A member asked:

Does your cervix only close if you have conceived? and if its open does it mean you not pregnant?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cervix always open: Hi Johnny, The cervix is always open. Females are the only people with their internal organs open to the outside world. After ovulation or conception, the cervical mucous becomes very thick. This acts as a plug or barrier against infection etc.
