Bronchitis: Any infection of the respiratory system can lead to an inflammatory response. Mucous and white cells are pushed out into the respiratory tract. Mostly, it is not a bacterial infection (bad odor or color of secretions would be a sign of this along with overall infection signs of fever/chills/etc). Prescribed respiratory anti-inflammatories (monteluekast or steroids) often help
