Radial nerve: is difficult to injure unless you pass out with your arm draped over the arm of a couch or other hard surface, or get dragged about in handcuffs. The ulnar nerve can be compressed at the elbow or base of hand and is more likely injured as the result of playing sports. If you have weakness of finger splay, thumb adduction or parasthesias in the 5th and 4th digit think ulnar nerve.

Need to examine: Have your doctor look at this and consider an EMG test to localize and confirm. Most likely you have one nerve at elbow to contend with, but test will reveal potential of additional problems.
