Chlamydia treatment: If your sexual partner has chlamydia, you need treatment, as you have been exposed to the infection. Azithromycin ( Zithromax) is recommended treatment. It would be wise to get tested for all sexually transmitted diseases ( STD's) as well.

STI: Chlamydia can sometimes manifest as a sexually transmitted infection and is easily contracted through sexual contact with an infected person. You may be infected with chlamydia and have no symptoms. It is common practice to treat an asymptomatic person such as yourself with zithromax. Your partner did the right thing by informing you.

So call your doc: This is a public information site.We do not diagnose or treat anyone for anything. The sister site Healthtap Prime has some of those capabilities if you are signed up and a doc agrees to take your case.At this point you have a need, and the med is likely needed. However, STD's often travel in groups, so getting screened for syphilis and gonorrhea would be a good idea.
