Prolactin: Hi. Why was your prolactin (PRL) level checked? First thing to do is repeat the lab test and see if it's reproducible. If so, have your periods become irregular and/or are your breasts producing milk? Probably not at that level, but if so, the PRL elevation is significant. Are you taking any drugs that can raise prolactin? If not, and the level is reproducible, you may have a small pituitary tumor
