Depends: A prolactin of 48 is high, but it may or may not be affecting fertility. Is your testosterone level normal? Have you had a semen analysis. Cabergoline is an effective medication to lower prolactin. It is important to find out why the prolactin is high. Have you had an MRI or CT scan of your pituitary?
