Can fioricet and benadryl (diphenhydramine) be taken together for migraine headaches?

Yes: It is okay to take benadryl (diphenhydramine) and fioricet together but you have to understand that both are sedating. You should not drive or operate any machinery while taking either of these and especially when you take them together. If you take one of each and go to sleep this may get rid of your migraine. I hope it works for you.

Yes, but...: Yes, they can potentially have an additive effect on headache relief, BUT your chancing potentially increasing the potential for sedation. If your going to do this, I would plan on not driving, using heavy machinery or putting yourself in a situation where yourself or others are put in harms way.

Better not: fioricet and benadryl (diphenhydramine) combination isn't advised, may lead to CNS depression

PERSPECTIVE: Both Fioricet and Benadryl (diphenhydramine) can cause drowsiness and the 2 together would likely prevent safe driving or use of power equipment. Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is of limited benefit in migraine, but Fioricet can ease the pain. Far better CoQ-10, riboflavin, butterbur, feverfew, magnesium, taken to prevent the migraine event.
