Systemic lupus ?: This sounds like systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), although other connective tissue diseases could cause similar symptoms and lab results. Hopelessness is a common symptom of depression, but is also common in almost any illness when patients feel that they aren't doing well. You should see a rheumatologist if you haven't already.
