Yes but: Hpv is very common. Millions of men and women get hpv (16 and others) and never know it. They transmit it, their bodies clean the hpv, usually then it's gone. Hpv can cause cervical cancer, and Pap smears will prevent it. Hpv can also cause mouth and throat cancer, but they are not at all common. The chance of mouth cancer is probably not enough to worry about, but that's just my opinion.
