Swollen glands: The most common form of Cat Scratch Disease, caused by Bartonella, is enlarged lymph nodes in one area of the body for several months. You can also have fever and weight loss, abdominal pain, enlarged liver and spleen.

That depends: Bartonella henselae (B. henselae) - Cat scratch disease; Bartonella bacilliformis (B. bacilliformis)- Carrion’s disease (Oroya fever & verruga peruana) & Bartonella quintana (B. quintana)- Trench Fever. Tests: immunofluorescent fluorescent antibody (IFA) assays for IgM &d IgG antibodies. cultures and DNA PCR. Sx’s can include swollen glands, fever, fatigue & rash.
