Possible, but: More likely the nail is just settling. Changes in weather temperature and barometric pressure often cause retained hardware to ache. My tibial rod hurts every time it's going to rain and has done so since it was inserted 10 years ago. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!

Possible: Most likely causes are typically either a nonunion of the fracture or a condition known as avascular necrosis. Don't hesitate to be seen in followup for it.
