Sore throat: Your sympotomes are most consistent with what typically is strep throat an infection caused by bacteria that cause lymph nodes to swell and become tender. The treatment antibiotics, rest and hydration. Good luck!

OTC pain medicine: If you are getting proper antibiotic for your strep infection and feeling discomfort in throat due to enlarged or inflamed tonsils or neck glands, use OTC anti inflammatory med like Ibuprofen for a couple of days may be helpful. Use antiseptic mouth rinse as well.

Mononucleosis et al.: There are MANY potential causes for the symptoms you have described, most of them being viral in nature. Mononucleosis is a viral infection that can cause extreme fatigue, sore throat, cough, abdominal pains, headaches, swollen lymph nodes and other symptoms. Most primary care offices can do a screening test for Mono with a simple finger prick test.
