Not to worry: It is an old tale that if one eye does not work well, the other has to work harder. In fact eyes work as hard as they can, all the time. The loss of one eye does not put an extra strain on the other. You of course have to be more careful not to injure the remaining eye but that is not due to the eye working extra hard.
