Increase: it is believed that your norepinephrine levels increase when you withdrawl from drugs like effexor (venlafaxine) due to a surge of release from suddenly stopping the drug, but serotonin is the biggest issue when you withdrawl from some of this class of drugs, so called "serotonin syndrome"
