Blood: Hard to say without an exam. If you're sexually active as well, it could be pregnancy related bleeding. It could be an infected or inflammed cervix causing spotting. Could also be your finger nails scratched the vagina causing some bleeding and the fluid could be your female ejaculate. Could be a UTI and you leaked some blood tinged urine. You may want to see your physician if it happens again

Spotting: You can have spotting around the time you ovulate and that's generally a time when your body is geared up for sexual activity. If this continues I'd suggest you make an appointment and see your OB/GYN. Best of luck. Other causes may include minor trauma to the vaginal lining or possibly of bleeding due to a cervical polyp.
