Do i have a respiratory infection if i have bronchitis?

Yes: Typically yes. Most bronchitis is viral though, and will resolve on its own. Less often, it's due to a bacteria, and may respond to an antibiotic. And then sometimes bronchitis is inflammatory, and will either spontaneously resolve or will require medical treatment.

No: Bronchitis is an inflammatory condition of the lining of the bronchial tubes. Although infections can be a cause of this inflammation, there are non-infectious causes as well. This includes allergens (pollen, molds, etc.) and irritants (smoke, chemical fumes, vapors, etc.).

Probably....: If you are referring to acute bronchitis, then you most likely have either a bacterial or viral infection of your airways. On the other hand, if you have chronic bronchitis, you have a form of copd, which is due to smoking and not infection.
