A member asked:

I am having severe anxiety over the prospect of having hiv. i intitally tested negative but how accurate are results after 4 weeks from "exposure"?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Accurate after: You can request another test at 3 months after exposure. By that time 97% of people who are infected with HIV will test positive with the rapid antibody test. Make sure to use condoms and check for tears before wearing them.
