Not unheard of.: sinusitus can last several weeks. If you are a smoker it can last longer. The idea is to take the medicine as prescribed and then if not better go back and see the doctor. The equilibrium can be off as you have much fluid in the middle ear do not blow your nose hard or this problem can be made worse. Hope you get better soon.

Bacterial, viral or?: Infections can be bacterial, viral or fungal for the most part. Just because you failed 2 courses of antibiotics doesn't mean its not bacterial...but its very likely now to be vocal or fungal. Equilibrium being off is very common. Sinuses do need to be drained surgically in some cases..but a wait and see approach here is best. Using a Neti Pot & BOILED WATER will help cleans out the cavity.

It is related: Sinus pressure frequently effects the inner ear, due to closeness, which can cause equilibrium issues. For chronic sinusitis, make sure your doctor gets a CT scan to see the extent if sinus congestion or if a drainage is indicated by an ENT.

Not unusual: Sinusitis can occasionally cause one to be off balance or dizzy. If your problem with the sinuses continue see an ENT specialist.
