Globus: Globus (lump sensation), throat clearing and hoarseness are classic symptoms of laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR). Additionally, food sticking is frequent. An Otolaryngologist (ENT) uses a small flexible scope through the nose to visualize the pharynx (throat) and larynx (voice box) to assess findings consistent with LPR. Dietary modifications, weight loss and acid medications usually help.
