Pelvic congestion: Generally, many women experience bloating and swelling around the time of their menstrual cycle due to hormone related increases in blood flow to the pelvis. This seems to be associated with increases in bladder leakage around menses in some women, although we are not sure of the exact mechanism. Avoid cravings for caffeine and chocolate which are bladder irritants.

Epilepsy: Increased levels of estrogen during menstrual cycle increases the risk of having seizures. Having a seizure, may increase the risk of loss of bladder control. This is one possibility. Other factors leading to an epileptic attack can be increased anxiety, irritability or a migraine headache. Abdominal cramps, may increase the intra-abdominal pressure, resulting in loss of bladder control.Thanks.
