Urethritis: If you note this problem only on your period then bacteria and menstrual blood may be irritating the tube the carries urine from the bladder(urethra). This can lead to asymptomatic bacteuria (urinary tract infection). Have a MD screen your urine when you are OFF your period and if this persists have a Urologist take a look inside your urethra and bladder with a cystoscope to look for abnormalities

Needs further tests: your symptoms are somewhat that of a bladder stone. After your period is over please see your doctor and get these two tests done: 1, sonogram of bladder 2, urinalysis. At least that is the starting point.
